MF Architecture team members Kendall Claus and Ingrid Gonzalez Featherston have been inducted to the AIA Austin Board. Claus and Featherston were nominated and voted on by the AIA Austin Board, to be the UT Liaison and the Membership Commissioner, respectively.
Claus received her Master of Architecture fromThe University of Texas at Austin this past May. During her attendance, she was a teaching assistant, as well as a team leader for the 2015 UT Solar Decathlon Competition team. Her work has been honored by AIA Austin and AIA Fort Worth, and has been exhibited by UTSOA during their summer Design Excellence exhibits.
Featherston has always been interested in the relationship between architecture and community. Through her participation with the local American Institute of Architect's chapter, where she is now on the Board, she explores this relationship and how it can inform change in both the historical and current contexts of society. From Mississippi, where she is from, to Austin, where she now lives, she has been a chair of Latinos in Architecture as well as Emerging Professionals.
