Andrea Alvarez is a Design Associate at MF Architecture, originally from Venezuela. She is also interested in architectural research where she explores the concept of accessibility and standards of architecture in the pursuit of inclusiveness in the design of residences and workspaces for people with sensory disabilities. Her passion for material science, as well as people centric architecture has been paramount to the development of her work. She is the recipient of multiple awards, recognizing her efforts in student leadership, scholarship, and design excellence.


She obtained her Bachelor of Architecture from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Master of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin. Before graduating from Universidad Central de Venezuela, she completed a residency at Espacio 2A, as well as internships for E-Studio FM and NORTE Constructions in Caracas. Her work has been featured in publications including AIA Austin’s Force Majeure and UTSOA’s Design Excellence Exhibition. Andrea is a licensed architect in Texas and Venezuela.


Andrea enjoys spending her spare time taking long runs along the Riverwalk, sketching at Mueller Park and baking pastries.
